Finally, a Sony mini-laptop is here, the Sony VAIO P-series. Although not in the form of some originally expected, is a measure VIA OpenBook, the Sony Vaio P Series has all the size and weight that should have a credential netbooks. It weighs 638g a small netbook that about two thirds of the original weight, the Asus Eee PC 701 Like the heavenly thin MacBook Air, P-Series is also two inches in thickness 19.8 mm, and only "slightly larger than an office envelope.
ButSpecifications impressive not only ...
The LED-backlit display, 8 cm in diameter and in widescreen 1600x768 surprisingly high resolution (1024x600 than your day-to netbooks). This resolution is unlikely to ever need a lot of side-scrolling again Because most party Web sites are not large. The battery life of four hours for the standard model, or 8 for the high-capacity battery - enough said, work for a whole day.
My jaw hit the deck when I saw howSSD storage drives much of the P series offers - up to 128 GB. SSD or Solid State Storage does not require moving parts and is very durable. But it is very expensive, a large plant that is significantly Netbook SSDs, about 16GB Tops had to produce. A hard drive is also available to offer 60GBs storage.
Sony has integrated some additional features really smart. First, a GPS, which requires no connection to the Internet (U.S. and Canada - more on that later), WindowsView - a first for a computer this small, and a host of connectivity options, 3G Broadband Wireless LAN, WLAN 802.11n and Bluetooth, so that you are connected, regardless of the mobile phone signal. Other standard features such as Motion Eye webcam and microphone are also included, not for the Sony Xross Media Bar "forgotten, along with the PlayStation 3 and the range Bravia HDTV.
The inclusion of Vista is interesting. Most netbooks are not more than 1 GB of memory, while Sony has lost 2 GB again. The computing power is a little 'the positive side, however, since the P series is a 1.33 GHz Intel to come, not the Intel Atom netbooks with the most - perhaps suggested as Sony, with the "gay and wants to distance the cheap look netbooks. As we said in our article on TT, the VAIO - try searching on the Sony VAIO Netbook page - nothing.
Of course, it was just made available in the U.S. (now January 8) - fromfor $ 899, which operates about 600 pounds today (painful) exchange rate. And here's the good part ...
It hits the shelves in the United Kingdom and France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Russia in February. We can not wait to get my hands on one.
