Knowing I had bought this eepc for my youngest daughter, I was expecting it to last only a year or so. When it wouldnt charge after 8 months, I was very disappointed and then began to search for a "new" battery. I had checked the adapter and saw no cracking in the wire or any defects. That little computer was working before my daughter got home from work. She was so thrilled, she almost acted like I had bought her a new one! May sound extreme, but when a teenager spends most of their time on a computer, it does become an important part of their life.
